What tile saw do I need? Requirements?

I've use many wet saws while helping others do tile/stone jobs but have never paid attention to what their specs or sizes were. I will be cutting stone 3/8-1/2 tile and some ceramic/porcelain tile. Tile rangin from 4X4 possibly up to 18X18.

Can anyone assist in what size or brand or wet/dry?

THanks

Although I use a MK wet saw, you might get a more detailed reply by going here: http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/...isplay.php?f=1

What tile saw do I need? Requirements?

I bought a cheap ($85) Felker at Lowes for my bathroom remodel. The tile size was 4x4 on the walls, and 13.25 x 3/8 (sq.) on the floor. The saw performed flawlessly. Much more efficient than renting one.

My advice is to decide what you want to use it for, and see if it warrants paying $$$ for a higher end. I know of people that have bought much more expensive saws and simply sell them off when they are done. Mine was cheap enough that I did not worry about losing money if it broke half-way through since the rental saw I could get was $30 a day, and knew that I needed a saw for at least a month (I am a slow tiler).

Well, i read a little on the other forum and it sounds like the Felker TM-75 model is nice. At $300 I am not too concerned as I know I will use it enough to make it worth it. Any opinions on here regarding this model>?

Very good product. A LOT of tile guys use it for their "little" saw.

If you watch, you can usually find one of the 3 offered:
Free cutting kit
Free shipping or
Free stand
