What kind of wood and stain is this?

Can anyone identify what type of wood this door is made out of, and what color/shade of stain this is?

Looks like an older fir door, with just clear finish on it.

Really? There would be that much color variation?

Actually, I just noticed that the darker area at the bottom coincides with the bottom edge of the screen door, so some of the color variation is actually just where the finish has been faded by sunlight.

The whole reason I'm asking is because I want to add some stained base moulding in this room, but since it will butt up to the door frame, I'd like it to match. I went down to HD last night and my only choices for stain grade lumber are maple, red oak, white pine, and hemlock. I'm going to check out Valley Lumber today to see what their selection is like, but I sure would appreciate any other feedback.

It could be cedar.

It's a Douglas Fir door with, no stain and a clearcoat, just like troubleseeker said. There is a natural variation in the grain from nature and there might be UV effects from the light.
