what is the best way to seal an old unused range vent duct?
I am moving the old range in my mother's kitchen and replacing it with a new range & microwave+vent/recirculator above the range. This has left me with a vent tube from the exterior/roof into the area between the ceiling and the roof (no attic - one story modular home).
What is the best way to close off the tube opening from the interior? The temporary fix now is 3 layers of duct tape, which is already starting to peel off after 2.5 weeks.
I plan on putting up some screen around the outside on the roof to keep the bugs and flying stinging insects from setting up shop inside the house again.
Thanks is advance.
If you have ductwork, I would connect the micrwave to it or put new ductwork in place that the microwave needs. A recirculating fan is just a useless noise box.
