weather stripping sticking to my new door?

I recently put in a new front door (6 panel fir), I primed and then painted its front (it's an inswinging door) with sw superpaint (satin, dark red/crimsonish).

Yesterday I put up my weatherstripping (standard foam sticky tape, 3/8" wide), and it seemed to seal nicely, but a few hours later when I went to open the door, it was really sticky, and a little pulled off onto my new door!

This morning I couldn't even pull my door open, I had to unlock the deadbolt and go to the outside to push it in, and it took a lot of small chunks of the weather stripping.

Should I have waited longer after painting? It's easily been 3 weeks, if not a month, since the last red coat was applied. I can't figure out why this is happening and if it will stop!

just realized this was never touched and I forgot to come back with my findings.

Apparently it's something to do with alkyd agents or whatnot in both the paint and the weatherstripping. After both are fully cured the issue should be completely gone (I have yet to clean what did stick, but the actual feeling of stickiness and the sound of it are loooong gone!)
