weather stripping

What is the best way to replace weather stripping around an metal frame entrance door. The old one is in bad shape and but cant tell how it is attached? Afraid if I tear it off I will not be able to attach any new strip, I don't believe any sticky type strip will last....
Also looking for something for the bottom of the door?
