water heater


My water heater sit in my garage 18 inchs off the ground.I recently have put drywall on all wall and ceiling.I would like to enclose my washer and dryer,but my concern is can i box and enclose my water heater and only leave vents .

A general answer "yes", but I would check with the local plumbing/mechanical inspector on it. There are lots of quirks in local plumbing codes, and you may be required to install a supply of "makeup" air if it is a gas fired unit. If it is electric, you can just about do anything.
