water borehole question

hi,

i live in london and thats not normal over here but i wanted to make my own water well.

i didnt know anything about water boreholes etc it was fun for me. first i checked internet there is not much info about water wells. i checked few local firms and prices start from 8k thats to expenisve for me.

i found some info and know that normally water well should be around 8m deap. i went to local store and bought pipes around 25mm 15m long at the end (last 2m)of the pipe i made filter small holes took 8kg hammer and tried to put this pipe undergound if posible; and it wasnt:) pipe went just 1m and stopped i tried in another place the same another the same there are some stones or something this pipes cost me 300. lost.

im new to this sort of things i didnt give up. took showel bucket and robe 3m made hole 1m wide 1m deap and found that there are stones different shapes sizes from 0 to 5cm stones and sand just under 0.5m of soil. It was very difficult to get trough it. After 2 days of work i made 1m wide and 1.5m deap hole and found water a lot of water. It wasnt possible to dig deaper cos of water. I took bucket dropped it down using robe attached to bucket and slowelly filled up It took me 3 more days to get to 2.5m. I stopped cos when i used pump 200l/m at ones i got 300l of water in 2min then water well was almost empty and it took 10 min for the water to fill the water well again. I used pvc 1m wide rings to protect my water well. Attached vent etc. When i measure how high is the water level then i see that the water is just 1m underground is that normal? Another qustion i have is i dont want to send any sample to lab cos it cost a lot over here 300 i dont use this water for drinking just toilet and washing. I want to ask i finished my well yesterday did concrete slab etc. When i checked water yesterday just after i finished work i saw that the water was sort of yellow moldy not like the one from store. Today i used bleach chlorine 5% dropped in around 0.5l of it. Then after 20min pumped it out and the water was almost almost clear but still not like the one from supermarket. I dont want to try to drink it. There is no smell etc just that the colour is not the same like the botled water. Very little but different what should i do? If there is iron or something could i do something to make it clean Without buying filters? Is there any chance to examine test my water at home instead asking lab to do tests?

just boiled this water and filled glass with it after 3hours i emptyed glass and can see at the bottom very little sort of brown colour something what can it be?

It sounds like rust. Be aware that just because you have water coming from a well, that it is safe to drink. The water needs to be tested so you know what you need to do to make the water safe. If it's not potable, you could possibly use it for other tasks.

here they use a sand point which is a pointed pipe with holes in it. to install it you rig a tee to inject the most pressure you can,40-60 pounds at least. thru the inside and let the water force out the holes and bubble up along the outside of it. then this heavy cap is also used as a battering cap to further drive the well down. some set up a tripod and mechanically raise a heavy weight and drop it. like bridge pilings or big buildings pile driving. Each time you put another section of casing pipe on you check to see if you can fill the pipe with water,,,if it fills keep driving,,,if you cant fill the pipe your done. you have to usually get 15-25 deep here but there may be more or less. then you hook the pump to it or attach wind mill and pump away. If you have alot of rocks and or ledge your not going to get it done. takes gravel on water bearing level.
