Vinyl Siding

Hello,
Does anybody know what causes vinyl siding to look wavy?

Improper installation, bad framing or both.

Just like Terry said, above. The vinyl product is susceptible to expansion/contraction as temps vary. Vinyl siding is manufactured to counter this movement by providing the installer elongated slots for nailing, as opposed to small round holes.

The installer always "loosely" nails the siding to the house framework, allowing each piece of vinyl to slide back and forth.

Wavy Siding

Thank you for your comments but what can be done to fix the wavy siding? I called the Lumber store where it was purchased and they said that it is a quality siding and is thicker (millimeter) than most. They told me to complete an Installed guest Complaint form and explain the circumstances and they would determine if it is a manufacture defect or improper installation. Any pointers, comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You can start by checking areas that are wavy and see if they freely slide back and forth. that is the #1 reason they don't slide. Either they nailed it to tight, which is easy with certain brand nailing fins, or they didn't nail in the middle of the slot. Another reason for wavy siding would be if they didn't snap it in all the way. Or of course back to the bowed wall....
