Question

Using Vermont Casting Intrepid II?

I picked up a used Vermont Casting Intrepid II wood stove. It has a damper on the lower right rear corner with the adjuster at the top right corner. It also has a lever mounted on the right side rear about 1/3 the way down from the top. It controls a flap mounted inside the stove. I have hooked it up to a chimney and it seems to work okay, we're just not too sure on adjusting it.
I've been trying to figure where to adjust it for best burn (most heat), but it doesn't appear to matter. Might be because it hasn't gotten too cold out yet, but I'm really not sure where to put that valve.

Last google found user manuals online. Must have missed them. Found that I have a catalytic version and the settings for that lever are for initial starting for a free flow out the flue and after the fire is going it is adjusted for catalytic burning.
