Better check local codes. Some places you can't put it on the roads.

Good way to get fined and in really deep dodo. It can even pollute your well is you have one.

Look into calcium cloride instead. Farm supplys may stock it.

Rusty and Joe were being nice.....if you get caught spreading that oil out on the road.....not only will you get a heavy fine....depending on the size of the area, you could also do jail time. It is a Felony.

Additonally.....you will be charged for the cost of the clean up....which would most likely be quite a bit more than just paving the road.

Very VERY bad idea.

EPA will be on you like flies to fly paper. And you may destroy your ability to sell the property if you turn it toxic.

It's against the law to dump waste oil on the ground any place.
Look into Calcium Cloride.

Fine to use the oil for burning but do not use it to keep the dust down on the road.
Just about anyplace that changes oil in cars of boats has to pay to get rid of the waste oil they may be more then willing to give you some.

Don't know about where you live, but here it's illegal to burn oil on a trash or brush pile. You would get fined for air pollution.

I’ve seen oil applied to gravel roads for dust control for ever. The community that stands out to me (for the sake of this conversation) is one that’s right on the river and it’s the county dumping the oil, and it‘s a black mess to drive on for a day or two.

Check with your town, county and/or state to see what’s allowed.
