trouble shooting Kohler 17OHV

I have a 2004 craftsman lawn tractor, it has run fine till now. will start ok and run for about 5 mins and shut off. new plug, air and fuel filters, cleaned carb, and checked for cracked fuel lines etc and clean gas.
still starts ok and runs about 5 mins and shut off. seems to be something electrical getting hot and causing the engine to stop. What would be the most likely part to check or replace? any suggestions???

I'd think that if it was something getting hot and causing this, it'd take less than 5 minutes.

When you say it shuts off, does it die immediately, or slowly bog down and peter out?

I'm just shooting from the hip here, but more information would be helpful. Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark, did you check your fuel solenoid? Do you have a constant power supply to it? There are two diodes in the wire harness that if one is blown can cause the fuel solenoid to shut on and off.
