triumphant! I share my woes, so let me also share a bathtub success story!
No before and after pics, because they look the same...
We have one of those silly tub liners and as you guys would predict, it began to collect water between the tub and the liner. Don't have the $$ to replace the silly liner with a new tub right now because my other shower is currently gutted and awaiting retiling.
Being semi-broke due to that other project, I had no choice but to attempt an inexpensive repair by myself. I reviewed several threads on this site, and also posted a few comments regarding the problem a month ago.... The overall consensus was that there was only a small chance I could get the water out by popping the drain assembly.
Well, first try for drain assembly... nada. No water. A few weeks later? More water collected, and it seemed to have shifted closer to the drain. So today? SUCCESS  The water is gone, and I found and fixed the leak causing the water collection (the overflow assembly).
And there was no warrenty on this job?
I would never elect to have a liner installed... I just "inherited" the problem
Who knows who installed this liner, or when it was done.
