Temporary Adhesive for Painted Stucco

Getting a jump on next Christmas.

I have a Sante Fe style home with parapet walls (therefore no eaves to nail into). I have tried using some u-shaped plastic clips purhcased at a local hardware store to hang Christmas lights, but the result was unsatisfactory. I would prefer not to introduce cracks into the stucco with nails, hooks, etc.

Any suggestions on a temporary adhesive that would allow for the attachment of plastic hooks to the painted stucco surface without damaging the stucco and paint?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Temporary Adhesive for Painted Stucco

The problem with stucco is that it has a sandy texture that does not lend itself to adhesives. You might experiment with double sided foam tape and plastic hooks.
