switch help

I need some help understanding some thing about switchs?

The Two Switchs in the Hallway that turn on and off the Light are called 3. way switchs.

Because the switch is wired like this
2. Black wire go on the one side of the switch. One wire on top and the other wire on the bottum.

Then on the other side of the switch is one wire Red Travler and the goes just from one switch to the other switch in the same place.

This Red Travler wire is what make both switchs able to turn on and off the Light.

If one switch is of the other switch can turn on and the other way to because the Red wire gives a New path for the Electric.

Am I right on all of this?

The one thing you need to understand about 3 way switches is that you need to identify the 2 commons and attach them to the switch correctly.
One common is the hot wire that energizes the line.
The other common is the hot wire that goes to the light.
The other 2 terminals on the switch are both travellers.

One side of the switch is the Black going to the switch and the other Black going from the switch I get this.

But on the other side of the switch is the RED wire Travler are you telling me that there is another Terminale on that same side that is not being used?

There are 3 wires going to 3 terminals on a 3 way switch. If you only have 2 terminals, it's not a 3 way switch.
