(not sure where this post belongs so I'll try here )I have a suspended ceiling in my kitchen, the house is 35 years old. The ceiling grid is 36 inches by 36 inches. Two fluorescent light fixtures are mounted on the unfinished ceiling above and there are four (4) 36 x 36 inch light panels/ diffuser in the grid that let the light in to the room. One of the light panels cracked and I am trying to find replacements. Due to the odd size 36x36 I cannot seem to find any, does anyone have any suggestions or sources?
I’m not looking to replace the ceiling at this moment if I can avoid it.
You will either have to find a larger panel and cut it yourself or find a plastic supplier that will probably have many options for you to choose from.
"gooddog"--Recently I was asked to replace a lot of ceiling panels within a business that used the 36 x36 grid on a couple of the rooms. There were a couple of these 36 x 36 Lucite panels that were cracked. The owners stated that they had been unable to find these Lucite panels to replace them so I tried something: I took a panel to a local glass business and they ordered a sheet (4' x 8') of this material to be cut into the 36" x 36" panels as needed. I realize this was an office and could afford it to go this way, BUT--if you check with a local glass company they may just have a smaller piece in stock. You just may get lucky, Good Luck, David
Put a cross tee in the space and use two 18"x18" panels...
