Stud mounting on Aluminum studs

DK75 Member   Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Chicago, IL Posts: 62	Stud mounting on Aluminum studs I ran into this recently while hanging small cabinets, shelves, etc. I suspect there are aluminum channel studs behind the walls as opposed to wood 2x4's. Is there a preferred method to screwing into these aluminum studs for maximum holding strength?

a1steelbuildings Newbie   Join Date: Feb 2006 Posts: 8	Stud mounting on Aluminum studs when dealing with metal studs you should try to avoid smooth connections as they can slide out. also some p[eople prefer to use adhesives instead of a fastener.
