Stucco Fins vs. Nail Fins on Stucco House

We have had our aluminum framed windows replaced with new vinyls on our stucco house. After the contractor ordered the windows, we found out that the manufacturer is unable to do stucco fins on two small quarter round windows because the bend is too tight. They can do the larger half round on the same side of the house though. At this point, all three windows have nail fins so they match.

While the nail fins don't match the rest of the windows in the house, they don't look bad. The contractor did a reasonably good job hiding the holes in the nail fins with caulking.

Other than aesthetics, should I have any concerns that the windows have regular nail fins and not stucco fins?

do you have any pictures? is the fin nailed over the stucco?hopefully not

Ahh, I should have been more detailed. The round windows are installed in a similar manner to the other windows. They are screwed through the frames -- not the fins.

The fins on the round windows -- including the actual holes on the nail fin -- are sealed with caulking. Other than the fact that the windows don't match, my impression is that they are perfectly functional. I just want to get some other opinions.

so these fins go ontop of the stucco and are just caulked?

Yes, the nail fins are on top of the stucco and sealed with caulk. The actual window IS screwed in elsewhere on the frame so caulk isn't being used to hold the window in.

The reason why this SEEMS like it won't be a problem to me is that the stucco fins on the other windows are just larger thicker pieces of trim in place of the nail fins. I'm certainly no window expert though.
