Steam causing microwave door to "peel"?

So I have an over-the-stove microwave. The bottom corner of the door has "peeled" off. I'm guessing it's from the steam from cooking, causing the stainless frame to separate. Is this possible? Anyway, I'm wondering what type of glue should I use to bond these two parts together.

Since no experts have chimed in yet...I would try contact cement. Apply to both surfaces, let them get dry to the touch, then stick together. Its very likely that that is what was used originally. Not sure what the best way to keep it from happening again is....small bead of silicone?

If it's the kind of microwave that's designed to take the place of a range hood, I'd start running the fan even if it's just steam on the stove.

Come to think of it, I'm going to go inspect mine!

Steam causing microwave door to "peel"?

thanks for the help guys. it actually was just double-sided stick tape holding it together. i had a little trouble taking it apart so i decided to use a steamer to separate the two. i guess steam is no good around double-sided stick tape. anyway, i just bought some epoxy glue mad for plastics and metals, and it worked perfect. hopefully this will have no effect from steaming.

Let me guess -- Stove and micro are part of a remodel. Stove is gas.

If so your microwave is very likely too low, check the manuel for the minimum clearance.

Epoxy is super powerful stuff. If it can stick a car to a drive I'm sure it can serve this purpose!
