squeaky metal floor joist braces

A builder used stamped sheet metal braces between the floor joists. The braces are set in pairs so they cross like an "X".

Problem: some of the braces touch where they cross, producing the most annoying metallic squeak I have ever heard!

Any ideas on how to fix this besides ripping out the floor (or ceiling below)?

Thanks!
Aaron E

Yes, I'm sure it's not the plywood. Some of these are exposed under the first floor, which you can see from the basement, and they do the same thing. It's a terrible metal-on-metal squeak.

Ok, I'll present the idea of removing a strip down the middle of the ceiling to access and re-fasten the braces. That sounds like the least invasive solution to this problem. Thanks!
