Split in Foundation in Basement

I have an unfinished basement with cement block foundation exposed on all 4 signs. We just noticed a thin crack down the foundation on one side from window to floor. At the bottom of the crack there always is a wet spot indicating water is coming in. Foundation must get fixed. Advice on what to do first? How does this get fixed? Need help

Basement leaks are best fixed from the outside. It isn't really a DIY job. Besides the repair, things can be done to direct water away from the foundation (extending rain gutters, proper ground slope away from the house, etc.).

Post a picture of the wall area. As for the crack, it could just have been a slight settlement that caused it. Really hard to say, without seeing a picture of the problem area.
