Snowblower chute won't stay in position

I've got a 3 year old Ariens 85026
It's got a crank handle on the control bar for the chute direction
While I'm blowing, I want to send the snow off to each side.
The chute vibrates back to the straight position.
The same happens with the angle guide on the end of the chute.
If I want to thrown the snow "down", it vibrates back up to the vertical position.

Anyone else have this issue?
What was your fix?

Thanks
