Hi;
Honda 5.5 HP will start easily & run smoothly for 10 seconds or so, then stall.
I've cleaned the carb top to bottom, gas is flowing freely to the carb bowl, gas cap is vented, & seals are tight carb to engine block.
I can see the linkage that goes to some kind of feedback mechanism in the engine, & it does not move as engine dies.
When it does die, engine will not start again, though it will "pop".
If I leave it for 10 min. it will start again easily.
Carb bowl is vented to atmosphere OK.
Gas to carb is gravity feed.
Appreciate any suggestions.

Jan.30...Final Update
Well...it's working...sort of.
When first trouble shooting, I removed the spark plug after it stalled, connected & grounded it, & observed a fat, blue spark.
The problem isn't electrical I said to myself.
After trying everything else multiple times, I replaced the spark plug, & the stalling problem is gone.
Now it won't idle unless it has partial choke.
It will run if I open the choke while simultaniously opening throttle.
In this condition, it will surge like an old "hit & miss" engine under no load.
Under load, it runs evenly with plenty of power.
That's it till the spring...then I'll soak the carb. Right now it's too cold

it still sounds like a carb problem when you have the carb apart give the float a shake some times gas gets into them and wrecks the fuel level setting
