Sliding door systems by Andersen

I recently ordered (from my new home builder), what I thought was a 9' sliding door system by Andersen. I looked at Andersen's website but could not draw a final conclusion to this question: Would a 9' slider be two systems e.g., a standard 6' slider with a separate 3' panel, or would it be a single 9' slider system?

Dave,
I would suggest you check back with your builder and see exactly what he ordered. I looked at Andersen's site and if you are looking at the 400 series frenchwood gliders, it looks like you would have to pair up a 6 footer with a 3' stationary panel. The custom size page is a little vague.

Mike,
I will do that. I saw what appeared to be a single unit in a model. I ordered the same, but two separate units were actually delivered. I'm afraid the stud between the 6' door and panel will not look like right as the model.
Thanks again,
Dave

Dave,
check on that stud being there. Your rough opening should be for the whole 9'. Andersen usually has their products set up to mull together to look like one unit when done.

Mike,
Thanks. I'll check into that. Sounds like my concern will be satisfied with correct installation.

It probably is designed to be an on site mull. Handling a 9' door is hard, even for a crew of guys.
