skirt advice

I am almost done installing vinyl siding on my house, furred it out 3/4" over my existing asbestos siding. Now when I look at it all I see is the bare cinder block at the bottom and wondered if people cover those with anything.

It slopes from 1 to 2 course (8-16") and thought about both vinyl and aluminum but wondered about keeping it clean - maybe a good concrete paint? any suggestions?

You parge it with a cement coating. Will look like a smooth stucco.

That sounds like a good idea, can I do that with my bare block chimney too? 16" ventilated bock and it never gets hot.

Yes you can. You can use coloring also, if you need it to match or compliment the siding.

Thanks much, I've heard of parging but not the details, the coloring sounds good too.
