sink faucet has air

When i turn on my kitchen faucet air sputters out. What is causing this and how do i fix it? thanks for your help

sink faucet has air

My best guess would be that the sprayer is leaking. This would drain the water out of the main valve assembly.

I tear things down and build them up.
