Sharp Edges on Formica Counter

Greetings to all.

A few years ago, my mother had an L-shaped bar counter built. A constant problem is the edges were not routed, and are sharp to the touch. I have been tempted to either file or sandpaper these edges to blunt them. Before I just try that and risk wasting money or messing up the counter top, I thought I'd come here and seek some suggestions.

Does anybody know a simple way to dull the sharp edges of a Formica counter? I do not own a router, and really don't want to make the investment for this small job.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Howard

Go with the file. Try in a non-obvious area first.

X2, push the file away from the finished surface at a consistent angle

OK. Thanks for the suggestions. I will try a file in an area not in plain view.
