Sewer Grinder Pump Redo

If you've been the latest victim of a scam by sewer installers in Indianapolis take heart - you are not the only one!!!

I recently had a grinder pump installed to hook into the city sewer system. The contractor I hired did such a bad job that nothing has passed inspection or will receive warranty until I take it all back out and redo the installation myself.

So - hire a vac system contractor to suck all the dirt out of the pit so the equipment isn't damaged AND the old septic tank that he tossed most of the dirt from the new trench into to cover the fact he did not have the old tank pumped out. $2,750

Bring in the required backfill material (gravel & concrete) and have it installed appropriately so warranty and inspection is ok'd. $3,600.

Total costs is around $6,300.

The lesson learned - NEVER pay a contractor anything until you inspect the work yourself and be there during all city inspections.
