Sealing basement

I have a new house with a basement that I want to seal, just to keep the cement dust down. I'm not too worried about sealing it for water or anything since it's pretty dry down there, there have been several rains and I don't think the sum pump has ever gone off. The drainage around the house seems pretty good so I'm not worried so much about water.

I just want to seal to keep the cement from flaking.

What's a good product to use that last awhile and can handle scratches and such from stuff being moved around?

Thanks,

marly

Sealing basement

1) Why would new concrete be flaking?
2) Do you want a sealer or a coating?
3) If you put a penetrating sealer on this, you may have problems if you ever decide to put some other kind of finish on the floor. Tile, or an epoxy coating for example.
4) The concrete must be fully cured before you put anything on it. Usually 28 days is considered cured for coating purposes.
