sealant question - in the long 1 and 1/2 ft thin aluminum "sausage " type container

Odd question but worth asking.I had some caulk sealant in the long 1 and 1/2 ft thin aluminum "sausage " type container(---not the basic plastic/paper container for basic gun that most basic bath /kitchen caulk and silicone come in--) and was looking for a method of dispensing this 1 without getting an expensive sausage type gun to apply it.Was thinking maybe a grout bag w tip technique but open for other suggestions .
Any info is appreciated.

Are you talking about a tube like this?

If so a cheap guns is about $5.00.

If it's not like this one I have no clue what it is your looking for.
What do you plan on caulking with it?

no- is different

Nope-that is regular plasic tube caulk -w basic gun .

-this comes in is a thin flexible foil pack 1 &1/2 ft long and requires a much more expensive applicator .

I only have 1 tube to use and dont plan to buy that higher cost 1 just for 1 tube(never will use these type again anyway)
I will go with the grout bag method, trim edges of both and do a twist pressure squeeze method, its soft enough.
Thanks though.

First make sure you do not have 1/2 of an epoxy mix. Once you have that established you can get a cake decorating bag with a plastic tip. Cost you about $2 at Hobby Lobby. Squeeze your caulk into the bag and throw it away after you finish. Thats about as cheap as you can get.!!~

You have a 20 oz. sausage tube.
What you need is 2 empty 10.5 oz tube (the normal size everyone knows) with a screw off tip. The ones I have are DAP silicone tubes.
Unscrew tip on 10.5.
Insert something, I use a 12 inch long bolt, push plunger out the bottom of the tube.
Clean tube if needed. I use a long margins trowel. I'm a tile installer by trade so I have these laying around.
Cut off end of sausage and squirt into 10.5 tube through the big hole end.
As you fill the 10.5 tube, tap the small hole end on the ground to get contents to settle.
Fill tube to top. Put plunger back in, this will force some sealant out small hole.
Screw tip back in. Repeat.
I have done this for years with tile mastic that comes out of a 3 1/2 gallon bucket. I use a putty knife to shovel the mastic into the tube.

Hi
That grout bag technique worked PERFECT -and 90% of bag stayed dry too.Cut tip from container, put in bag and twist from top down, like a pastry bag.Even flow and can cut to exact fit with larger amounts oozing out than if in a regular caulk tube!
