To seal basement floor or not to seal?
That is the question...
Getting carpet put down in the basement, had a water problem that I have fixed with drainage tile, sump and landscaping. The water problem is fixed, or 99% fixed. Should I seal the basement floor just incase i get a touch of moisture? And if so that is the best product? Thanks |

If there is no water entering the space, then it is your choice what to lay down as flooring. As for sealing it, you do not put anything down, other than the mastic to secure the flooring, if the manufacturer directions tell you to do so.

To seal basement floor or not to seal?
It cant hurt to seal it up. My basement is "dry" and I still sealed it. I think it looks nice, and feels dryer. Is probably not, but I sure think it is!
