Since Schlage got sued and was forced to discontinue their Securekey line, does anyone know where I can still buy a Securekey deadbolt? All the big stores here have long cleared them off of the shelves.

Why would you want to buy a discontinued lock set?

Already have multiple ones throughout the property and need one for an additional door. These are less than a year and a half old and seems like such a waste to throw everything away.

That is like asking where you can still get a Ford Pinto, even though they are no longer manufactured.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

I've heard their security is questionable however I do believe if someone wants in they'll get in. From what I read Schlage made claims their Securekey was superior and Weiser **** a brick and sued. Once they won they posted a claim that the Securekey was picked 44 times and Smartkey only once. I wonder who the dirty player really is in this game.

Actually no. The Pinto stopped in 1980. Securekey was discontinued in December 2011. Liquidators love to buy this stuff up.

If they are keyed alike could you get one the same or are they changeable? If not is there a seldom used door you can put one regular dead bolt in?

I believe I can still buy the same style and color of the shelf and have it keyed to the same as my Securekey ones. I have a spare master for rekeying in the future as well so that's really why I'm after one. If I can't find one ill just do that.
