Rounded bullnose seam popping

The seams are popping out along our metal rounded bullnose along a niche and in a closet. Not sure if it was originally tacked down or what. Doesn't seem to be based on the lenghth of seperation.
Any suggestions on repair and tecturing back the area? I'm a novice but good at following directions.

Thank you!

Not quite sure what I am looking at, but it seems to be a taped joint that was not taped or nailed down, as you supect.

Ya, whoever installed that bullnose, did not do a sufficient job. I would rip it out, apply a new layer of joint compound and new bullnose tape and then at least two more layers of compound and feather it into the existing surrounding layers. You'll need to texture and paint again of course.

Re: Rounded bullnose seam popping

Looks like a niche that is used as a shelf for kids toys. That being said you may be better off lining the bottom of the niche with wood and facing the bottom front of it with trim so it looks like a nice little wooden shelf that will hold up to the kids.

Otherwise I'd agree with Redrockrunner's advice.
