round counter top for island

Hello,

I want to make a quarter of a circle (pie) for a counter top island. Three sided - 2 straight one rounded. Roughly 4ftx4ft or 4 1/2ft by 4 1/2ft. I want to make it thick 3 to 4 inches I am thinking. I can't figure out how to construct it so that when i make the round cut it is solid so i can glue the formica to it. Please help!

Thanks

sorry, but I don't understand what you're trying to build. You already have an island, or you are in the process of making one? You are trying to build a wedge shape quarter circle, 3-4 inches thick, 4 feet in radius and covered in formica??? What is this wedge going to be used for??? I assume the footprint of your island isn't wedge shaped, is it?
