Rough Price to dig a hole 40' x 30' x 7'

I know price threads generally don't actually get a price, but does anyone know of a ballpark estimate to dig a hole those dimensions? The dirt doesn't need removed, just piled up outside the hole.

I can rent an excavator for like $2,000/week, and imagine I could dig it myself in a week, but honestly I'd rather just pay a company to come out and do it and not have it be ****ty. Doesn't really have to be perfect - be nice if the bottom was somewhat level though.

Wish I knew about how long it would take to dig. Like, are we talking a week or an afternoon?

That's a big hole.
Are you planting potatoes?
It's best to not even try to get you close to a price because it can very so much from one area to another.
Buy some shovels and a keg of beer and invite all your friends over for a hole party.

It could be done in about four hours at the max I would imagine. It really depends on what is under the soil, and how difficult the site is to get to, which could add to the time to dig that hole.

Call an excavator---your local soil and site have so much to do with the cost---

And your location---You have been here long enough to know location has everything to do with price.

Manhattan Kansas might be less than Manhattan NY.
