restoring cast iron tub?

I have an old cat iron tub. The enamel on the bottom is completely worn away. The local hardware stor has an apoxy type paint to restore the tub.
Does any one have experiance with this type of product or other products to restore a tub.
Or should i consider hiering a profesional to do the job

You can use epoxy paint, but it will never look as good as a professional refinishing job. Although it can be a bit expensive (hundreds of dollars), this is usually best left to professionals.
Good Luck!
