If this is a single paned glass in a screw together sash, just measure the opening of the metal as a start. Next slide in a thin nail file or pop stick into the groove the glass sat it. Measure it in two places on each side to see it's the same. Double one side, deduct an 1/8" from the total measurement and add the metal to metal opening size. That will be your glass size.
If this doesn't make sense, call in a glazier to fix it.

Ok great so thats how to measure what size glass ill need. How do I put the glass into frame? Do i take frame off? Do I take off one side?

Take the whole frame into someplace like Ace, or Home Depot, and let them do it for you. That way if they break the glass during install, you do not have to pay for a second piece.

If it's a screwed together sash, you unscrew it, take it apart and install the glass. Then reassemble it.
If this sounds obtuse, call someone to fix it.
