Repairing gap between tub and tile/sheetrock
2 Attachment(s)
My tub has developed a major separation between it and the floor tiling and wall (sheetrock). How should I repair this?

Someone suggested to me that water may have gotten on the floor and into the inner lining of the tub and caused the inner tub wall to partially deteriate and cave in. They suggested that I simply try to pull the tub wall back in place and seal the tub/tile/sheet rock lining. Should I also try to somehow replace the tub inner lining? I have attached pictures to better show what I am trying to describe.

Can you post another picture showing the entire set-up? I don't know what the 'inner lining' might be, nor how to repair/replace it. If the tub is moving there is some pretty extensive damage under there, and I would prepare yourself mentally for the prospect of pulling the tub, repairing the damage and replacing whatever finishing is around it. At least to start with it doesn't look like a patch job with caulking is going to do it here.

If # 2 is as bad as it appears (1/2"?) you have more problems than just sealing.
