I'm trying to remove some yellowish water stains from shower tile grout. I've tried grout cleaners, abrasive cleaners and bleach (using a toothbrush and scour pad) to the grout and the stains remain. I've just about given up. Anyone offer any suggestions before I throw in the towel?
I just cleaned up a nasty shower with one of those small steam cleaner units - worked very well and easily. Not sure how it would work on your grout problem, but if you could borrow or rent on might be work a try.
Sounds like it could be iron oxide from your water. Test a few spots with a product called "CLR" (Calcium, Lime, Rust). It comes in a gray bottle.
If that doesn't do it my next choice would be pressurized steam.
