Refinishing cultured marble counter?

I am trying to help my mom remodel her bathroom VERY inexpensively (she is financially strapped and trying to sell her house) so we're trying to work with the things she already has. I've seen professional refinishing services for these types of counters, but has anyone ever attmepted DIY refinishing for a cultured marble countertop? You know, the one piece molded things that are actually acrylic/fiberglass. I feel like there has to be some inexpensive DIY epoxy out there that can work!

Any advice would be very helpful.

Thanks!

If it is the type with a gel coat top layer, they are not easily repaired, depending on the problem. Big box stores have a big supply of inexpensive tops that will probably fit and not look repaired.

Can appreciate your position but there is no real way to fix or rehab those things.
