Radon mitigation

Hello Everyone!

I am just checking to see if anyone has any experience with Radon gas problems and/ or its mitigation?

I did one of those 72 hr home tests and the results came back at 5.2pCi/L. The EPA says anything over 4.0 pCi/L should be remedied. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Radon mitigation

Simple Answer: Sounds like you should start calling around to get quotes on installing a radon gas mitigation system.

Also, if you have well water, you would want to get that tested for radon too.

Radon mitigation

Hi,

The best solution, I came across, to mitigate high levels of radon is to use an in-line radon fan.

I have reduced the level of radon from 15 pCi/L (maximum acceptable in USA is 2 pCi/L) to 0.4 pCi/L by using this type of system.

I have took steps to measure the radon levels only after a friend has been diagnosed with an early form of lung sarcoma (cancer) - he had 21 pCi/L in his basement home office.

You can get additional information about radon mitigation and risks at

Cheers!
