Phone jack?

I just tore out some built-ins. Found this jack behind it. There is no plug, this seems to have served more as a junction box. There are 2 brown wires coming out of it which go to the basement and terminate. This looks older than the old 4-prong phone jacks I found elsewhere.

Its an old 'hard wired' terminal. If you don't want a phone at this location, disconnect the wire at the protector and rip it all out!

That is how they used to do it, before the 4-pin & RJ-11 connectors. I always toss the biscuits in a box, due to some time down the road, you may need it for LV wiring, such as a doorbell or a/c/Heatpump LV repair. My dad had a box of those, that along with the old transformers used for the princess phones.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

Cool. I'll pull it out then. Definitely will keep the box, it's cool if nothing else.

Oh, you think it's 'cool'....then you need to be on the look out for a 'princess phone'......a must have to complete the 'coolness' of the old phone....
