I have come accross some people on here that are just trying to round up business. Like posting there own questions then refering themselves to themselves. Or posting the same advise on multiple threads to get people to visit there websites or business. I am a professional. I feel I have a lot of good advise to give. It is a waste of my time and anyone else's to have to read this bunk. Please refrain and advertise like everyone else does...LIGITIMATELY!!!

I'm with you Dave, I don't post advertising of any kind. I think it is interesting to read the posts and offer advice if I can. Others in business should do the same and not use a signature with phone number...they probably think it is slick to do it.

This fall maybe...I knew a guy who said locals get coupons and discount stuff that make the trip a lot less costly....and I am cheap. The travel agent said the Disney World 4 parks and misc. would run $1800 plus air fare...WOW!...cheaper to go to Acapulco.

Yes locals do get a decent deal, but like I said they make you present an ID when you get the tickets. We had some friends come in from out of town last fall and tried for them...No luck. I can tell you where to stay and where to eat however. Lots of great attractions. Between Disney, Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Universal studios, and about 100 other small theme parks there is no boring vacation here. Cheap is tough to do, but if you stay in a hotl away from the parks you can still do it fairly inexpensive. About anywhere in Orlando area is within 30 minutes of the "Magic". Let me know if you come I'll meet you for dinner or something. My wife and 2 daughters (4 and 11) love to get out of the house.

Go to the post about needing new cabinets and see my reply to this guy, or to the modular home guy...Heck I think they're the same guy...
Yeah, those are spam

Whenever you see those, you can click the exclamation point in the lower left
It's a "report bad post" button
It'll pop up a spot for you to put in "spam", "ad", "nasty web site link", or whatever is the problem, then you can send it
It'll go to any moderators for the sub-forum, or Admin if there's no Mods

I agree, it is painfully annoying when people do this. Dont' they realize they are probably hurting their business more often than helping it?? Who reads solicitation posts and then is happy to offer their business to the person who is soliciting? The modular home guy especially sucks!

intentionally soliciting business is annoying but I think professionals should post links to their own sites/businesses, etc in their signature. In many cases thats what a signature is for. It's like a business card, and if you have a related product or service to the forum then post it in your signature.

I often visit peoples signature links. But I spend a lot of time at small business forums, web design forums, and sports forums. and all those members have links to their own sites in the signatures. Each online community develops it's own culture though I suppose. if the owner of the forum decides they don't like signatures, then they can disable them though.

Yes website link at signature is OK, it sometimes will let people know how knowlegable this person is to the topics he/sher discussing base on the information provided at his/her signature web-site... and if the viewer click the link, it is really his/her will to do it.. not forcing by the person who do the posting... Other than that, it is correct not to advertise at the message itself... it is kind of conflict of interests.. one probably says what one's selling is good even it is not the fact...
