patio door help pls.

Ok, here's the rub:

I have a circa 1973 brick house with an Arrow patio door. The glass is thermal glass and is in perfect condition. However, the rollers at the bottom of the screen were shot so I pulled and replace them. That part was easy.

Next, I tried the same trick with the sliding glass door. It is a vinyl covered steel "H" on either side of the door and an aluminum extrusion on the top and a different one on the bottom. The vinyl wraps the aluminum profile perfectly. I removed the screws from the bottom and tried to tap out the bottom but quickly realized that the sides were not liking this so I stopped restored the bottom to it's original position and started to tap out the sides. They won't budge. I put the screws back, put the door back in and now I'm looking for guidance/assistance on how to remove the rollers from the sliding part.

Any other guidance would be appreciated.

Not sure if I am reading the thread right. You need to remove the door to remove the rollers. If you loosen the top and bottom roller adjustment screws yu should be able to pry the bottom rollers up with a screwdriver or sturdy scraper. Also, be sure there are no security screws attatched to the frame where the top of the door glides, which impedes lifting the door up.

Hi Canadaclub:

Not sure if I am reading the thread right....
Thanks for the response.

I've already removed the sliding glass door from the frame.

I have to disassemble it to remove the rollers but even removing the assembly screws from the frame, it will not come apart. There is something else that's holding it together and I can't seem to be able to find it.

I've tried "persuasion" with a hammer and block but that's not working properly. There's something else that I'm not doing.
