Outdoor TV and Fridge?

Ok, my husband and I are putting in an outdoor kitchen. He's a landscape architect so he knows what he's doing. I'm trying to surprise him with a piece for it. I know he wants both a TV and a fridge for out there (and a grill but I'm not even going to try to go there).

So my question- Do I have to buy an "outdoor" TV or can I get a regular TV with some sort of weatherproof cabinet?

Same goes for refrigerator?

I have found outdoor tvs and fridges and they are crazy expensive so I'm just curious

I appreciate any comments...

I can't see why you wouldn't be able to put a regular TV in a weatherproof cabinet as long you use outdoor wiring as well. Just make sure you account for possible glare and find a suitable cabinet to put it in that is waterproof.

Outdoor TV and Fridge?

Thanks!! What do you think about the refrigerator? It would be put in a space left open in the stone next to the built in grill

Outdoor TV and Fridge?

I recently went to the home of a client that had a television on his lanai. Even though it was in a waterproof cabinet, when you would turn it on it would make these awful popping noises for about five minutes. He said it was because of the humidity in the air and that it was "drying itself out." I don't personally have any experience with a television outside but if you live in a humid area, please consider this your warning
