Outdoor Fireplace question

Hello all,

I live in Southern California and I was wondering if you are allowed to have an outdoor fireplace up against a wall, or does the law require it to have space behind it?

Here's a couple of pics....one shows a fireplace I found on-line that roughly resembles what I would construct.

The other picture shows my back yards location where the fireplace would go, roughly centered right where the 3 decorative pieces are hanging on the wall.

Thanks, :)

you should check with your local building department as some zoning requirements have a minimum setback from property lines or buildings. it's better to ask before hand than have issues after.

just my opinion,

would look fantastic!

Thanks G, I will certainly do that.

I'm actually looking to tear out my near ground level deck and install a patio with a nice fire pit ...... nothing like a fire on a nice crisp New England fall evening

Awesome G, would love to see pics if you go for it. And you're right....nothing quite like an outdoor fireplace or pit for those brisk evenings.
This is what we currently use....

Our kids love it, but it's kinda small.
