old window locks

Can you advise regarding an old window lock that cannot be opened because the client has lost the key. The lock is on a handle and has allen key screws by four screws two of which are covered by the handle. Thanks

old window locks

I would use a Dremel Tool to cut it. Dremel has a new Cut-Off wheel that I used to cut through 2" angle iron with NO appreciable wear on the wheel.

The old type wheels had tiny screw to hold the wheel to the mandrel that I could NEVER get to work right. Their new system is not only simple, but the cutting wheels now seem to last & last.

They also have Cut-Off Wheels for plastic

And even a Diamond Wheel

To remove the EZ Lock Wheel you just engage the shaft, push the wheel down slightly, turn the wheel Turn, and it pops off.
