Nominations For August 2014 DIY Project of the Month

We are opening nominations for our August 2014 DIY Project of the Month today!

The DIY member with the winning Project of the Month will receive the following as prizes to receiving this prestigious award:
  • $350 eGift Card
  • Featured in our Monthly Newsletter
  • A custom badge
  • Username listed in our DIY Project of the Month page with project photo

The best thing about this community is the wisdom, experience, and support shared. We learn from each other and accomplish so much more when we share our projects. The DIY Project of the Month program gives you the opportunity to say, “Thank You!” to your fellow DIY members for giving you inspiration, motivation, and direction.

Nominations will be accepted until August 6, 2014 after which we will total up the count to determine the top 5 project nominations. Then we’ll open up the official voting poll to all DIY Chatroom members.

To Qualify:

- Nominees must have a minimum of 100 posts in the community.

- Nominees must be willing to provide a profile picture (or a picture of the project) and a unique biography. Failing to provide these in a timely manner will disqualify the nomination so you may want to start working on your stories now, just in case!

-You may not nominate your own project.

Rules:

- You can only win DIY Project of the Month one time per year.

- Each member can only nominate ONE project per voting cycle.

- You are welcome to nominate any project on DIYChatroom.com. However, we, the DIYChatroom Staff, reserve the right to screen all nominees.

- As members of the community, moderators are also eligible for nomination.

Additional Notes:

- Nominations are posted publicly here. This is your DIY Project of the Month, for you, by you. Having this process public helps everyone see that the nominations are chosen by the community.

- However, voting is anonymous. Each member gets only ONE vote, but no one can see who voted for whom. You can only see how many votes each nominee receives.

Are you ready to get started? A good place to start is by looking through the Project Showcase forum! http://www.diychatroom.com/f49/

What’s your favorite project here on DIYChatroom? Post a link to the project below!

Let the nominations begin!

Nominations For August 2014 DIY Project of the Month

I am going to help get this started.

I spent a lot of time going through many of the projects in the Project Showcase section and I am absolutely blown away!

We have some incredible talent in this community which made it very tough to choose one to nominate, but I finally settle on this one by ddawg16. 2-Story Addition...Trials and Tribulations

Now let's get this going!

Which project do you want to nominate?

Absolutely. We can nominate any project here on DIY that we feel should be included. Each member gets to add ONE nomination to this thread but you cannot nominate your own project.

On August 6th we will add up all the nominations in this thread. The projects with the most nominations (top 5) will move on to the final vote.

Thanks Cricket......even if I don't win....you've given me a 'kick in the butt' to get more done. (you might like what I did with my stairs)

This project has been going on for more than 3 years now....while we see the light at the end of the tunnel (and it's not an oncoming train), we still have a lot of detail work to do.....between work and 3 kids who are busy with scouting and other activities....time is a hot commodity.

I feel sort of bad in that I have not really looked at any of the other projects....hence, I can't offer a suggestion at the moment....

I nominate Cocobolo's island home build, you can read his story here.
Gulf Island Building.

Keith built a lot of his home from logs gathered from the ocean and milled himself. His is a fascinating journey and a great read.

I second the nomination for Cocobolo---Sorry Ddawg--i like your thread also---but I believe Cocobolo deserves a 'hat's off to you!' this month---I don't know if I have a vote here as a Moderator---(I'm from Illinois--vote early--vote often)

ddawg, I'm just as guilty of not having looked at your build thread before either. I don't know why I missed that.

I just went through some of it and that's a fair project you have there. But you sure seem to have come a long way from the beginning and are on the home stretch now. I'm guessing that you have learned a ton of stuff along the way. Definitely looking most excellent!

Like...hmmmm....we have time? I think we both have the same problem.....no time.....

But to be honest...you win hands down just on 'character' alone....
