New guy from New England- Help with front of home design?

Hi my name is Patrick and I'm new here. I own a home in New England and have always admired the aesthetics that make a nice exterior. Just not very good at it.
Sometimes I regret the green siding being surrounded by woods it makes things very green..
Any thoughts on shutters, front door or gardening tips? To add interest.
I was thinking in the spring a black door and maybe sage green shutters?
Any help appreciated.

Personally I think I'd go with white on the shutters to match the trim and railings, a lighter green may make them blend in too much with the siding, or black if you like contrast (a black door sounds fine). I'd also do something about the pathway to the door, larger pieces of fieldstone or even a full paver pathway. I'd probably make a rock garden elsewhere with those rocks that are serving as the edging for the beds and put in something like brick edging (maybe two brick high to give it more presence), as well as more shubbery (some that flower would be nice). Very cute house, at any rate.
