New Features Added to DIYChatroom.com

I just finished some upgrades to the site and I've added some new features that I hope you'll enjoy.

New Profiles
This is a work in progress but I have high hopes for it.
Your profile page has been upgraded and now has the ability to make contacts, upload photos, message people, and see posts and stats.

New Photo Albums
You can now create a photo album that will be attached to your profile. Upload photos of your work and tell us a little about it. It's pretty easy to upload photos now and you can also use this to attach images to threads.

Social Groups
Users can create groups for others to join. This helps users with similar interests to join up and discuss topics.

Friends
You can now create contacts between users. This enables you to be able to keep track of each other, share photos, and more.

Thread Prefixes
You now have the ability to add prefixes to your thread title. This only works in certain forum topics and we will be adding more and more as we go but for example you can add a For Sale prefix to something you want to sell or add a UK prefix to a UK post to make it clear to people searching what the post is about.

Blogs
You can now create your own blog and share it with the world. This is a great tool to document your projects and share tips.

Video Walkthroughs
I know a lot of these features are new and may be confusing so I'm in the process of creating video walkthroughs. Here is a list of what we have done so far.

Adding Photos To Your Profile

More To Come
There are a lot of other new features and I'll continue to update this post as I enable them

Thanks for your membership

Is the 'most recent new threads' listing on the front page gone forever? I liked that feature.

Great. Now I can post some of my work so the DIYers can see it.

No, I'll be putting that back up. It just hit 1:00am last night and I needed to take a break. I'll be adding more stuff tonight.

Thanks for the reminder though

For now, you can just hit the link (New Posts) on the bar towards the top of the page.

hmm.. i've been documenting my projects in the "project showcase" section.

i guess i'll copy/paste them to my blog as well. i like to keep a record online even for my own purposes. i wish i had did someting like that even for the electrical distribution and plumbing. ah well..

still a great site. thanks for the admin support!
