Needing a garage door remote's


Can someone school me on how to go about getting a garage door remote for our garage doors ?? This may sound like a dumb question but can you buy universal remote's that can be coded like a television remote control's ??

yes.

OR... get the model and serial number off the opener
and contact the local retailers or distributor for that brand

yes lowes sales them not sure how old your unit is ..but they do sale them...

We have a 2 car garage. 1 is a Chamberlain and 1 is a Lift-a-dor. I am going to assume the Lift-a-dor is a garbage manufacturer. Just looks cheap.

lowes handle chamberlian shoulnot be a problem.

The FCC manages, for better or worse, and I don't care if you are big government or no government, a communications spectrum that looks like this. For your concern about a universal garage door opener replacement, I would definitely print this out and ask a guy at Home Depot in an orange apron which universal remote you should buy.
